I never realised the CofE had banned yoga, but it appears it's old news. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/2219201.stm http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristo...s-links-8220/story-25993427-detail/story.html http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2002/aug/28/religion.world
It isn't censorship. A private business can choose whatever they wish to show. If the advertising authority had banned it, that would've been censorship. This is no different to you refusing the church the right to hang up a banner on the front of your house. I'm glad the cinema have decided not to air this. If people wanted to be indoctrinated with this nonsense church attendances wouldn't be falling.
It certainly is. If we can tolerate Liams ridiculous ramblings at football then there are no excuses for intolerance of any kind.
Disagree with you mate. In the current climate if the ad was by muslims telling people to worship Allah then there would be an uproar imo.
The Bible proves that God exists The Koran proves that Allah exists The Mister Men books proves the Mr Tickle exists.
Unless you are one of the 41% of the British population that are not Christian and therefore don't believe in the Christian definitions of God and Heaven (2011 Census)...
According to the last Census, Jedi Knight is the 9th biggest religion in the country. Given that the advert was planned to be shown before the new Star Wars film, it could be said to be deliberately targeted to offend a fairly large minority religious group (~176,000)...
I don’t care about this either way. Getting great publicity with it being banned though. I doubt that the ad would offend anyone, more like people just saying “eh? What’s the point in this?” I don’t actually buy the reason for it being banned though, aside from them saying they won’t allow any religious ads…it’s not this specific one they have an issue with, more likely that if they show this one it will set a precedent so other groups will want ads…so then a Muslim group have an ad and cinemas get picketed by the EDL.
