They didn't play like a team on the beach. Over the course of the two games there hasn't been many teams as tough as them. They had two one on one chances that Davies saved. They headed one down onto the roof of the net. They had a free header from a corner that went over. Davies had to save well from a really good curling effort. They knew how to play the ref with time wasting, kicking the ball away and standing in front of the ball to stop a quick free kick. A few throws they had were allowed to be taken away from where it should have been. They took their goal well after bullying Pinnock easily off the ball. They gave a really good account of themselves and to take over 400 fans was a good effort.
exact same ref making terrible decisions against us as he did when we played Shrewsbury at their place. Shithouse.
I agree, it could have finished 2-5 on another day. The lad Whalley was particularly dangerous and Jordan Williams didn't look up to it. We seem to be getting by on a bit of luck and some fine last ditch saves just now.
It made me angry at the time, with some of the minimum contact decisions that were going against us.....Glad it didn't effect the overall result. As a previous poster stated another team who were very good at playing the ref and it's that old experience thing again, we did great to get 3 points and I'm proud of us.
I don’t think I have witnessed so much blatant cheating by a team than Shrewsbury, taking yards on throwings, free kicks and also placing the ball outside the D for corners. If they feel hard done by, then so be it.
Gave them too many chances ,we are not pressing the ball as well at the moment, if the gaffer wants a high line we can’t stand off
