I think the only one of those I'd take issue with is Chaplin and that's marginal.

Don't disagree too much with that. I was just responding to the post about playing him in his favoured left wing position.

I still think he performs far better as an out and out winger but he's got time on his side to develop attributes to allow him to play other positions. Sadly not astute enough to defensively to offer cover for Styles or Brittain I don't think.

Harsh isgrove alway played in his favourite position. A 442 with Thomas on the left wing would suit him better, definitely a player in Thomas I think a loan to league one will do him good.

He's rarely played left wing though. We bought him on his performances as a right winger. 43 of them for Coventry.

Yes I remember him scoring against us playing on the right for cov, cutting inside and smashing it past davies. Hope he comes gets plenty of game time if he is going out on loan definitely a player there.

It doesn"t matter what wing he plays on, he struggles to cross a ball , he does not look up , its a basic of wing player & unfortunately Luke"s final ball / cross continually lets him down , another problem is he rarely shoots, if a chance presents its self he is like a rabbit in the headlights , however having said all that , his pace & the fact that he is still young still gives him a chance to develop & maybe a loan spell league 1 or even 2 might help his career , the fee we paid out for him was a lot for us & we cannot afford to waste that kind of brass .

If you can play football, there are a few roles within any system that you can play. Archdeacon and Robinson were wingers. We started playing 3-5-2 that didn't include wingers and they adapted to play at wing back. Very well. Flemming was a full back. When we went 3-5-2 there were no longer any full backs. He adapted to play as a sweeper. Also very well. Bullock was a winger, we didn't play wingers, so he played behind the front 2. Liddell played behind the front 2 having never played that role before. If we played 4-4-2 with wingers, Thomas still wouldn't be any good. It's not the position it's his ability. He's just not good enough. Maybe he'll improve and become good enough, but right now, wherever we asked him to play, he wouldn't be able to do it at this level as he just hasn't got it.

Your opinion there mate. One I probably agree with but not one to be presented as fact. High flying performer in League One makes the step up to the Championship only to not play in the position that made him a high flyer.

Not saying Thomas is the fantastic footballer that we must keep and play. He's been disappointing. But at such a young age I think you can point to a couple of reasons for that - one being he just isn't good enough and the other being he's been played all over the place. I think winger to wing-back is easier, if you've got a certain mindset, than pacey winger to part of a front three. Just my thoughts though.

Disagree. LT doesn't score, create or contribute in the main. Waste of a shirt imo. I'm very very rarely critical of our players but i just don't get what he contributes.

Left or right side should be of no problem to a pro. Take Styles as CM and asked to play out of position and excelled. Without Scowen as an emergency full back we wouldn't have got promoted. Even Bobby went int nets and got a clean sheet. CW asked to play as a No10....... if you're pigeon holed in just one position and you're not adaptable then for me you're dispensible. He's gash.

I do think you're seeing similar to what a lot of people are seeing but you're being nice and don't want to say.

I always try and be positive Jay! Especially on a player so young with time on his side and apparent quality in moments. I think he can go on and prosper elsewhere if it isn't with us.

He's frustrating. He raises blood pressure for all the wrong reasons. Glad he's going.

He runs at defenders, and looks like he can cause problems but seems to have lost all confidence in his ability to deliver a shot or pass. He’s reduced to just hoping for contact in the box.

He will get nowhere near Ipswich on the A442.

He shows glimpses of promise , had plenty of chances though . May need to drop a league to boost his confidence and get some consistency

I actually like Luke. His work rate is good and he plays on the front foot, always looking to get the team forwards. I do think that he has become a bit lost in the current 3-4-3 system and his recent performances confirm this. I think that there is a star player in there, but whether he can realise that in the system we are playing is a moot point. Cracking goal he scored against us for Coventry at Oakwell in the promotion season and I was at the game at the Ricoh as well, where he linked their midfield so well and got the Sky Blues rolling forwards. I hope that he comes back and proves to be the winner he promises to become. Still young and plenty to achieve.

It's his decision making that needs to improve. He needs to make his mind up what he's doing during the run. If it's frustrating for me watching it must be for Woodrow and Chaplin.

Against Forest away last year, he played on the left and ripped them to bits.

I actually think theres a player in there, its just his confidence is shot and he doesn't seem to understand his role in the team.

its a shame, but he cost us 1.2m so I don't want to just write him off.
