I keep seeing the argument that Collins team have scored more than duffs last season. But I'd argue Collins has had better attacking options and styles for half a season. I know Norwood was a fans favorite but I think I'd rather have macatee over him. What's everyone's thoughts on this? Macatee or Norwood?

I think McAtee is a better individual player but both McAtee & Cole would do better playing alongside someone like Norwood than each other.

Totally different players. Obviously McAtee is far and away the better player but Norwood had attributes that we never replaced.
His nouse up top, pressuring of defenders and all round s***housery enabled us to press higher up the pitch.

Strangely enough they have the same number of goals and assists...although McAtee has had more minutes on the pitch.

McAtee is by far the better player and that's why he's scored more than what Norwood did for us.

He's also younger and not has serious injury issues so he can regularly play a full 90 mins which helps.

He hasn't scored more than Norwood, they have scored the same depending on which site you look at.

I think they're at a similar level at the minute. Neither can last longer than 60 odd minutes due to the type of player they are. Similar outputs too in terms of goals and assists. McAtee has a lot more potential, and if he realises it then he'll clearly reach a higher level though.

The only reason I've brought up the goals stat is that people keep telling me that Collins is a boring defensive manager. To which I quoted the goals scored stat - nothing more, nothing less.

Norwood at times has struggled for starts in non league and failed to get one of the promotion favourites in to the play offs.

McAtee is a much better player.

McAtee is one for the future who I would love us to be able to sign. He will play at a higher level.
Norwood is one from the past, but could arguably have done a bl00dy good job for us in L1 this year, based on his performances last year, both starting and off the bench.

But surely scoring more goals in a team that doesn't play with a high press or as attacking as Duff suggests we haven't missed Norwood and aren't oldham 10th in the national league?

McAtee has more in all comps than Norwood got in his season with us.

Norwood scored 12 league goals in 45 games. McAtee has 12 league goals in 39 games.

You're missing the point though...Norwood last season scored the same number of league goals and assists as McAtee has this season in what a few on here are saying is a much weaker league.

Different types of players, so why McAtee vs Norwood? Why not Watters vs Norwood? Dallas vs Norwood? Cosgrove vs Norwood?

McAtee has actually had more time on the pitch in his 39 than Norwood got in his 45 though...the difference between them stats wise is negligible.

Norwood had he stayed wouldn't have done as well as McAtee has.

Comparing last season to this season it can be argued that had McAtee had the guys Norwood had playing with him he would have scored more.

Norwood 12 goals in 45 games

Macatee 12 goals in 39 games

I'd argue had macatee played under Duff and a manager with his pressing attacking style he would have scored more.
