    You threw a ball from one side of the street towards your mate on the other side trying to hit the kerb edge so that it bounced back to you to score a point.
    We were easily amused in those days:D

    Same as Hooky, I haven't heard of it either. Come to think of it our ball made of scrunched up newspaper tied together with band wouldn't have bounced back to the thrower, so maybe that's why we didn't play it.

    I played that as well but not much seeing as we had Cemetery Rd on one side of the house and Doncaster Rd on the other. Must have found a quiet street somewhere. It was quite a skill managing a rebound off the far side

    My great grandmother fell in a river and drowned.
    As a mark of respect the mourners at the funeral all wore life jackets.

    Absolutely amazes me that people haven't heard of it when it's a name used throughout England but then seems to completely skip certain small areas or groups and there doesn't appear to be any reason or logic as to who does and doesn't use the word

    Cos we played sticks on the pavement or Kerb. As brush describes. If a garden wall for example wasnt available. The Kerb was.
    Usually 3x fire lighting sticks. Looking back I may have heard the term b4. But only on here if I did.
