He usually talks sense but tonight were the words of a spin doctor knowing he's close to the sack.....

Like a Lee Johnson interview, turns a defeat into a win.

To be fair to him, it sounds like the plan was to attack early, score, and control the game thereafter. Having seen us this season, I wouldn't necessarily say it was the wrong call tactically. It just didn't work.

Spin Dr my arse. He was right, cos we were **** up to the sending off which was a game changing moment. Our passing for most of the match was woeful and just to highlight our finishing, it should have been at least 6-0. Having said that we won but up to the sending off it looked like being a night of sorrow.

I enjoyed it. They were definitely the best team for the first part of the game, but I thought we had started to get on top prior to the penalty. I definitely disagree with your point about the passing, as I felt it was considerably better than previously this season.

They had two attempts on target all game, one of those was in the last minute. So for all the dominance in the first 20, they didn’t really do much with it. Not too dissimilar to some of our recent performances

Switched off at bizarre goal, showing his mainly **** non league football career experience.

Had we not gone ahead and played against 10 players tonight we would probably lost the game tonight.

My poor passing comment really relates to the first 20 mins or so. I don't know what would have happened if the sending off did not occur.

Based on what exactly - they were already fading and we were getting much more into the game when we scored - against 11 men
for all their possession in the first 20 minutes they didnt create one chance
No doubt going a goal up and against 10 men made life easier for us but even if there guy had been shown a yellow instead of red I think we we would still have won.
QPR havent scored in the last 4 games and only scored 1 goal all month so to say they would have beaten us is pushing it a bit

I thought it was an honest assessment....knowing our habit of conceding......I was on edge even at 2 nil up I thought Qpr played well despite the score line....they appeared to have our problem that final 3rd....even with ten men they were a threat at times...thought Dykes was a busy little player who got stuck in and let our lads know he was there .
At times they moved as a solid unit and in my opinion were the better team up to the red card......we were trying to play quite a lot of high balls over their defence to start with in fact I said to the Mrs ...if we keep this up I'm going to end up with a Sheffield united neck strain
So for me warburton called it as it was. Seemed a honest assessment on players left out and key board warriors
Opinions hey we cant all be the same

I’ve no idea what would’ve happened had it remained 11 v 11 but I do know it would’ve been impossible for them to keep up the same tempo they played with in the first 20 minutes for the full game.

They weren’t passing rings round us they were pressing us & causing errors

Refreshingly honest about the penalty and red card decision. Many managers would claim "not to have seen it clearly". Screenshot_20201028_061423_com.android.chrome.jpg

"and purely by chance the ball falls into the path of the striker"

If you mean that sublime, defence splitting pass from Callum Styles, putting the ball on a plate for Woodrow to score before your player drags Woodrow down in the box......

Then yeah, Mr Warburton it was lucky....
