If it makes you feel any better pal, I work with a City fan and when I asked him about the game last night, the first thing he said was 'do away goals count in the Carabao Cup?'. I think they're worried for the return leg. At least he seemed it.
We've given ourselves a small chance but can't see us keeping them out , I'd rather have 3 points Saturday.
It does perplex me about Watkins. He’s seen in a far different light to Winall. It seems people forget he handed in a transfer request after the January fire sale and wanted to jump off the sinking ship. For me, I liked him but he was limited. I think we need to be looking for better although I understand that costs money. I’ll not forget his transfer request when we needed players to get their head down. He was going to get his big money move in the summer anyway, and the back end of last year he was part of a dire team performance.
Winnall was a whiny stinking rat face foul horrible **** tho so I can understand why Watkins is seen in a different light not as rat faced.
I wasn’t too pleased with his transfer request but I suppose he will have seen his (former) team mates all signing for other clubs, increasing their wages, and thought ‘I want some of that’. He was good, solid player Marley. But if we’re playing him right midfield in this team, I’d rather have a fit Isgrove (if he can stay fit).
We played them in the FA cup a few years back and we never had a touch really. One way traffic, but a joy to watch. I think they were trying to walk the ball in last night. My mates a Huddersfield fan, and couldn't believe how patient they were against them. Just passed and probed until they scored. No panic and direct stuff. Just waited to pick them off.
