Morecambe’s a long trek for him. I know Tranmere was a ball-ache for him too. It’s a start in management though if that’s what he wants.
I like Devaney as a bloke so I want him to be successful. He probably wants some kind of guarantee that if we do go down he’d keep the job like Hurst at Rotherham & be able to have a crack at league one. It’s a massive gamble, if you stay in U23’s too long you might miss the boat, if he takes the wrong job & gets sacked then he might not get another job or if he does get one it’s likely to be a club in a bad way.
