A lot of discussion lately with Michael Gove saying it's good manners to wear them. Do you wear a mask when in a shop? The amount of people I've seen with them must be about 2 percent
Yes. Every time. Gove says face coverings should not be mandatory in shops. That's good enough for me to conclude that they probably should.
Haven’t left the house in 15 weeks or whatever it is, but I would wear a mask if I had to go to the shop for whatever reason. It’s pretty pointless unless everyone does it though. It should be law
No. A lot of masks are incorrectly worn as well. And those in them aren't always the best at waiting for a gap. Obviously if I went on public transport or where it was mandatory I would.
We've been in shops since the peak of the virus without mandatory masks and still infections have decreased by well over 90%. Just as things are slowly getting back to normal, we have talk of making it compulsory. Right or wrong i don't know but the timing seems odd.
Yes I do unless going to my local chemist that only allows one customer in at a time and the staff are all behind a Perspex screen with their own masks. Anywhere I can’t keep a 2m distance I wear a mask. I have noticed in Farnham the numbers wearing masks has increased significantly and now in a supermarket is more like 30% a few weeks ago I would only see a couple of other masks during my shop. I don’t think Michael f*cking Gove lecturing us on good manners is an effective approach. It should be mandatory to wear them in any indoor space where a 2m distance can’t be maintained
I haven’t been in a shop since beginning of April. I have just bought some masks incase I need to though.
wow, it must be brilliant to get waited on hand, foot and finger for 15 weeks. (Sincere apologies if you are housebound)
OK, calm down dear. just thought it was strange that you wouldn't have gone out at all in 15 weeks. I assumed (incorrectly obviously) that someone else would have been doing your shopping for you. Just not gone outside your front door in 15 weeks, can't get my head around that. Not even for a bit of exercise?
They've been compulsory in shops and indoor public places here in Germany for best part of three months. Bizarre that only now it's put forward in UK.
We've been out in the garden. but apart from that, no. Got a bit of light gym equipment (weights, bike etc) so been using that for exercise.
Hope you don't take this as me having a go at you, or me having a go at anyone else, whatever their choices, but I really wish more people would have stood up for those who continued to work, because they had to, because they weren't furloughed, because they had to feed their families and pay their rent. Those people were dehumanised, as was anyone and everyone who argued their case.
Yes but what to the Germans know about managing a pandemic with your strange ideas of track and trace, mask wearing, working cv-19 app being no where near as sucessful as our inspired approach.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe anyone dehumanised those that had to work. I have a problem with employers that were putting employees in harm's way, but I never had a problem with people that have no choice. For example, I think Asos should have closed and furloughed staff at the height of the pandemic. I don't blame the employees for that, I blame the company.
I appreciate that and your position, @Jay, but having a pop at someone for staying in when it's been government advice for most of that time seems to be rather going the other way. As you allude to, I think we all need to have respect for each other's situation and not jump to conclusions. Teufeurs aside.
I do agree that no one should be criticised, however they choose to handle it. Other than those actively trying to cause harm, but thankfully they are very few and far between.
Then I'm going to correct you. But I'm also going to say that my post wasn't directed at you, nor was a post I previously made that you took offence to. You didn't do it, but others did.
