    Not a lot of people will agree with you outside Barnsley Football Club but I totally agree. Hughes is a top Champ player. Marty James is Premier League class. Different types of player though.

    James was on the fringes of the England squad before his injury though, the lads class and we've only seen him at maybe 80-90%.

    They get 30k gates week in week out their revenue is probley 2 or 3 x ours 4 million is nothing to derby especially like already said they have sold players for big fees. Were punching above our weight.

    Barnsley have become a great shop window for players we own or loan players we borrow. Strange isn't it that a good few recent loans have gone on to join, or about to join, bigger clubs that can always pay more.
    Blimey, we couldn't keep Morsy from about-to-be relegated Wigan. Still scratching my head how we got Isgrove.

    Barnsley celebrates its 75th season as a championship/div1 club this year. Easily a record. We are not punching above our weight we are maintaining our historic average.

    I don't understand this. Of course we can compete with that, didn't we just sell a load of players for a lot of money?

    I would say in order to continually improve you should be selling players and replacing them with better ones using the money you have gained. Not that you should be selling players, stockpiling the cash and signing poorer players to start again at the bottom and work back up to where you were.

    It's getting crazy. Man City are poised to sign 27 year old Kyle Walker from Spurs for £50 million.
    How the hell is he worth that. Bad thing is the Blunts will get a windfall on the back of it.
