What's the situation for Matty Wolfe for next season? He's been out for such a lengthy time.

Also do we have a few youngsters who'd be looking for a first team place next season?

I can think of Aiden Marsh and Fabio Jalo, but are there any others such as Theo Chapman and others in the u21s and u18s ready for the step up?

Maybe some of those that watch the u18s/21s can give us their thoughts.

I'd hope we get Lofthouse back and start to see more of James and Yoganathan rather than getting in loans that are of no better quality and have no long term benefit to us.
The flip side to this is obviously McAtee, without whose goals, we would have been looking at mid table obscurity by now.

Fantastic to see him back but it is a strange carry on. He was seriously injured early in 2023 but there’s pictures on his own twitter feed of him back out on the grass training in August & October. Unless I’ve missed something but there’s not been an update since then has there?

Sadly his contracts up in the summer & I can’t imagine the club will keep him especially when we’ve got Benson still under contract next season.

Did Wolfe get another injury then? Shame for him, he looked great for a little while.

If he’s going to recover Idlike to see him get another year

    Wolfe
    Benson
    Cundy
    McCarthy

Whatever you think of these players, it’s a good chunk of ‘senior’ players to be missing from a L1 squad. I definitely think having a fit Wolfe and Benson would have helped us keep our legs in midfield as the season went on.

    It's an Interesting one John.
Of the present squad ( not including those out on loan.) 8 are out of contract 4 are coming to the end of their loans with us.
On the striking front it'll be a case of who we can offload and those we try to keep or can re-sign.
    Cole
    Watters
    Cosgrove
    MaCatee
    Marsh
    Jalo.
    Dallas
    Shaw.
    Dyer
And 1 or 2 others coming through.
Some will want to try elsewhere to try to push on.
