All signs point to Chris O'grady if you ask me! Family are still in Barnsley, something different to what we have, on the fringes of Brighton team, must be 30 now for experience! Might be willing to take a pay cut for regular football and seeing his family again??? Plus it fits this "surprised his names not come up yet" thing from Nixon
Would absolutely love O'Grady. He can score for fun at this level. With a point to prove. Big, Strong, great touch. I haven't even thought of him, because I can't see it. But if it were to happen I would genuinely be as happy as any signing we've made in recent years.
Asked Nixon and he said it's a bid for a player. Not a free agent who we've seen today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To be honest I think half of it is just made up to generate publicity. Notice he never mentions names always spurious hints.
No he's really good with his information on us so i'm pretty certain he's got a really good insider at the club. He's not going to name names as that would piss off the person he's getting his information off. Imagine him naming a person we are speaking to or about to sign and it doesn't happen because another club get wind of it and take him. Experienced striker, bid place so not a free agent, surprised name hasn't come out yet etc i'd say whenever we do sign someone it will fit the clues he's given.
Okay folks i will put you out of your misery.....re our new striker......hes got a dodgy back a injured right leg and is undergoing investigation on his left leg too.passing his medical will be so easy has he fits the bill if previous seasons and medicals have anything to go by, he knows where the onion bag is having been the leading goal scorer the season he last played, admittedly he hasnt played for some years, but then again neither did phil gridelet when he was here....hes barnsley through and through.....and as we speak hes just waiting for a call from LJ......to finalize the deal....... so there you have it from the horses mouth ive already polished my boots and im ready..... come and get me ....LJ .....send ben round with the contract......
Strikers from the championship who we could be in with a shout at getting: some of these will seem very unrealistic. No stone unturned as Flicker use to say Chris Brown, Blackburn - experienced target man who struggled with a bad injury. Big wages after signing from Doncaster. Tom Eaves, Bury - young but with loan experience. Flicker had him at Bury - 6 ft 5 target man. Chris O Grady, Brighton - no introduction needed. With the recent addition of Zamora he could be surplus to requirements - nothing new for him there! Wages Aaron Wilbraham, Bristol City - seems unlikely as he played a huge part in their promotion. They've recruited a french attacker for £2.1m this week... Marvin Sordell, Burnley - bit part player all last year. May come into his own now they've been relegated and Ings has gone. Alex Revell, Cardiff - excellent target man for this level. Superb player for Rotherham. Mason Bennett, Derby - 'wonderkid' who has never kicked on. Loan spells with the Blades and Bradford in recent times. Joe Lolley, Huddersfield - prolific non-league striker who hasn't been given the opportunities by Powell. Nicky Ajose, Leeds - player with pedigree and genuine quality at this level as proven with previous loan spells. Tom Hitchcock, MK Dons - struggled for game time despite being a key summer signing last summer. Andrew Little, Preston - bit part player last season. Goal machine for Rangers in division 2 and 3. Nick Blackman, Reading - former Blade who hasn't scored enough goals to justify a main striker role for the Royals. Clarke-Harris, Rotherham - played under Johnson at Oldham. Very highly rated and talented but I would imagine difficult to manage. Caolon Lavery, Sheff Wed - investment in strikers might mean he is up for grabs. (Running out of a synopsis now!)
Your missing the obvious point that we let him go in the first place because we couldn't meet his wage demands, which I'm sure will only have gone up when he signed for Brighton. He'd have to be willing to take a pay cut to come back. Would be one hell of a signing though. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Was only thinking last night when listening to football heaven that Caolon Lavery would be a great signing. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
