    With the rise of Nationalist parties in Europe - Germany AfD, France FN, Hungary Jobbik, Greece Golden Dawn, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway etc are you really happy to trust 'a bunch of elected MEP's.'

    The point I am making is that Brexit is full of uncertainties but so is Remaining. I would prefer the uncertainty of Brexit than the uncertainty of Remaining.

    Do the revised forecasts work from now, when the £ has dropped ~30% in 6 months, or dated to the performance from June?

    Just curious, I've not seen them, but just about anything is an improvement on the 2nd half of the year!

    According to The Times today, backbench dissent is growing amongst the Tories, and there is the possibility of rebellion if parliament gets a vote on whether to trigger Article 50. On that score, apparently Whitehall is growing in the view that the challenge in the High Court will succeed - i.e. parliament will be granted the vote to approve the triggering - or not. If any of that comes to pass then an early general election becomes a distinct possibility. That in turn raises the possibility that despite my predictions, Corbyn might actually become prime minister - especially if the analysis is right that the Brexit vote was largely due to people feeling disenfranchised. Wierd and wonderful times!

    Judgement in the High Court tomorrow morning (Thursday).

    Whichever way it goes, it will only be half time because the 'losing' side (whoever it is) will appeal to the Supreme Court.

    Wasn't she elected by her own party? The same as every other party leader?
    If you're talking about the General Public - we're not like the US, we don't vote for a Prime Minister so in that sense all PM's are unelected.

    You could be right, when was the last autumn/winter general election?

    Just looked it up, 2 in 1974, February and October both won by Harold Wilson (first one without a majority).

    They will appeal. Then they could appeal to the European Courts (Irony overload!) *then* we might get an election (if they overturn the fixed term law!). Which could be very interesting depending on how the parties align themselves.

    The way they were going to do it was complete the negotiations, then ask Parliment to vote on it, which could lead to the entire lot being overturned anyway.

    We are certainly living in interesting times!

    The whole thing is a farce, Cameron has well and truly screwed this one up and then legged it as fast as he could. Referendum flawed in almost every way possible - all would have been fine if he had won but it really looks like absolutely no one considered what would happen if the leave vote won.
