    We've seen several posters here referring to their struggles with anxiety, depression etc. The club and community don't want anyone to suffer in silence and have provided this valuable list of contacts to help you during a mental health crisis.

    Mental Health Support Contacts

    You'll also notice a new tab at the top of the page pointing to a new Mental Health Support forum. A few had suggested having a forum for groups who want to break away from the main forum and support each other. Like a virtual Andy's Man Club. Use it how you like or continue to use the main forum. The important thing is to keep talking.

    (Thanks to @YTBFC and Kelly the club's safeguarding officer for reaching out - I will make his a sticky at a later point so it's always available. I'll also put in as a sticky in the new forum)

    That's great Gally, as a parent of a son who is struggling can I say do not suffer alone. I'll not go into detail regarding my son but please talk to someone, help is out there.

    Great stuff. I’m sure this will be most helpful to anyone who might need it.
    A year ago after covid I suddenly suffered from bouts of anxiety preventing me going to football. Going to the pub. Playing my dominoes and even going to catch a bus would trigger it off.
    Got put on antidepressants and have just recently been taken off of them as my condition seems to have returned to normal.
    I’d never have believed how my life would have been affected by this mental illness. Just nothing I could do about it. Fortunately I had it mild so I can fully appreciate how anyone can be beaten by it.
    No shame if anyone has to ask for help. If you have to please just ask.

    I noticed this. I've been there about 3 times in my life. The last time was lockdown. My business closed, living alone and isolated & a lack of direction day in & out, despite my efforts to correct it. Twice paramedics called, which isn't good in a pandemic.

    Thankfully & thanks to many on the BBS I'm well on the other side now.

    We need to take mental health seriously.

    Feeling like crap for no reason is crap isn't it.

    It even harder when you have to try to describe to people how and why you feel the way you do when you can't even comprehend it yourself.
