Great fan of Mick McCarthy. Watched him and for a time his brother Kev both play for Barnsley reserves and Mick progress into first team . He was a great centre half and dominant in the air. Since then of course he has managed a number of league clubs so his experience is unquestionable. Whether he would want to return to manage his home town club is qestionable . He has done it all and might think retirement is more appealing than the pressures of modern day football management. You would have to ask him that but we shall see.

I would love him back as well. The thing about Mick is ...he tells you what he thinks whether you like it or not. Not enough of that in football nowadays. Gone are the days when treating an injured player was Norman Rimmington jogging on with a bucket and sponge, shoving down the players shorts and if that didn't work nothing would. It soon gone them moving

He would by far be the best manager for us, experience; knowledge; strong, would care, passionate , respected.

The only reason and chance that we could get him is because he is one our own.

Get him in none of the others monk grayson compare.

He’s the one manager that if we managed to get I would be confident of us staying up.

It could be both short and long term with him taking a different role in the following seasons with a younger coach.

It all depends how settled he is down south I reckon.

It would be one way of the owners getting immediate kudos

Not sure how Keiffer Moore would feel about it mind..
