He played 23 games in league 1 this season for Gillingham. Had a couple of games in the Premier league for Sunderland. Admittedly that doesn't make much of a difference.
I do agree that Dykes looks a better prospect. At this stage it's very hard to tell what is a genuine rumour, what is lazy journalism and what is the work of a players agent.
I'd be completely underwhelmed if he was one of our main targets to affect the first team. I don't think he would be like.
I know we're not talking massive amounts of money but it's still wasted money if they turn out to be crap and a lot do. Shaun Tuton could be added to my earlier list and Bradley Ash.
Aint Miller still got 2 years to go on his contract. £200,000 there and cant remember seeing him play.
Mate, I've never heard of this fella, or the one in Scotland. I like arguing. You should know this. Like I said the other day, I expect little business this summer. Adeboyejo and Miller up front. 20 goals apiece. By January.
I'd like little business this summer. If anything the squad needs trimming. People keep harping on about experience in the middle and up front. If you keep hold of Mowatt and Woodrow there's your experience. We just need a midfield anchor to allow Mowatt to get forward and target man to compliment Woodrow and we'll be fine.
Yes mate, significantly more goals in significantly less games, in a higher league I'm with ya homie.
We made money on Bradley Ash though I think. With the ones plucked from the much lower leagues, and these were Patrick's words not mine, the transfer fee and wages were tiny and if they train with us, even appear for us, but ultimately we decide they won't make it, they're recycled to back down the pyramid as better players than they were and we get our money back with future interest retained. That was the strategy as explained to me with - not my opinion. And I'm sure there's facts out there that disprove it as wrong. Also, some of the signings we now know all about probably happened in years gone by under the radar. We know so much more about everything these days compared to even the 90's.
