I know it’s impossible to say for sure - and I’ve seen people say it was an impact knock - but does anyone who was there or watched the stream have a view on if he’s likely to be out long?
Saw him try to score when picked up the injury but difficult to tell he came back on for a few mins following the knock. Hope it’s just a week or two sort of thing tbh.
He had a leg brace on when he came on to the pitch at the end, and was limping a bit. Didn't look good but hopefully the brace was just a precaution.
Saw him at the end when he came on pitch. He was wearing one of those leg brace things. But would have thought it can't be too serious or the medical team wouldn't have let him come back out.?
(and hearing my rantsValuable asset for all his deficiencies but yesterday proved we have other players equally capable of scoring goals. The pace and performance level yesterday remained high before and after he left the field of play. Clearly yesterday proved the team is greater than any individual player. I could not believe I was watching the same team that played the bottom side in the League on Tuesday night.....Oh! hang on...this is Barnsley we are talking about. Standing joke in our house between me and my missus who "knows nothing about football and cares even less". After decades of living with me (and hearing my rants) she said "typical Barnsley.... losing to a bottom one minute side then beating a top team the next!" Great entertaining game yesterday (even putting aside the result). Good opposition played at a fast pace and lots of great interplay and accurate passing from the Reds.
Some are saying he is out for four months Twitter accounts ect. Hopefully not and it's fake news but would be nice to know.
Mischief makers. Wait until we get an official confirmation. Hopefully long before the Luton press conference. The protective foot will have been as a precaution and he limped a little but didn't look in huge pain. If our medical team thought it was that serious he'd have been in a Peterborough hospital getting looked at with an xray instead of applauding the away end at full time. Pretty sure he will miss this weekend, but I don't see it being longer than a month out max.
It may alter our style of play, instead of big man up front we will have to play more to feet. Apparently we did ok on Saturday so may have to concentrate with that tactic.
He leads the line really well & wins more headers than not. He’s strong and quicker than people think. Finally, we have a player who holds the ball up . Oh .. and he’s our top scorer! We’ll miss him if he’s out
Of course we'll miss him but it gives Adeboyejo and Brown a chance. It will effect the style because we won't be able to resort to hoofing up to Moore and we'll have to play out from midfield more. It gives Moncur and Potts a chance to continue to shine and Mowatt and Dougall to stay in their comfort zone.
According to the Star, it doesn't look very good for Keiffer. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foo...rn-over-barnsley-fc-s-star-s-injury-1-9386417
So basically the Star take news that's 48hrs old from the after match interviews and try and pass it off like they have something new to say. Some things never change, good old "Sheffield" Star.
If there was ever a time for Woodrow to come in and make an instant impact now would be decent. I’m guessing he won’t be rushed back in though so that means Brown and Adeboyejo, hopefully one of them can step up.
He will be missed but we have goals all over this team moncur, mowatt,Potts, thiam,Vic,Jacob brown and hopefully Woodrow comes in before moore is back.
He’s going to be missed at both ends of the pitch . We might after adapt our attacking style slightly but like others have said we do have goals from other areas.
