I think we will still get paid, but they also get the chance to use any money left over for wages. The transfers for Moore, Williams and Robinson will be for more than the amounts still owed out.
It’s a short career good on Kieffer for squeezing as much as he can from it. As soon as he goes over the hill clubs will turf him out without a second thought.
Not wanting to rush to his defence particularly but in this case its hardly his doing The Club is going under unless they drastically raise some cash and cut their wage bill. Its in Wigans interests to offload him whether he wants to go or not. Be realistic - if you suddenly found yourself at real risk of losing your job and not getting any wages as your employer is in danger of folding and someone else offered to take you on a secure contract you would be mad not to go. I dont even blame him for going in the first place - someone offeres to triple your wages its hard to say no
Based on what Baz? It's repeated lots of times, one of the absurdities of football's sense of self importance is that all football debts get paid in full while others (including Sr John's Ambulance for example) receive pennies in the pound.
DT could be right, they will owe more than just us for football related debts, would have thought money raised from sale of Moore could be paid across a few football debts as opposed to just one.
I'd refuse to cover the matches if I was St John's ambulance unless they paid before each match. That's not right.
I agree with you to some extent. But i think the people who represent St John Ambulance wouldn't be able to live with themselves if something happened to someone at a match that they knew they would have been able to prevent. I think the whole embodiment of St Johns Ambulance is to help people
I know they wouldn't do it but it seems so wrong. Could a match proceed without them in front of a crowd?
That doesn't change the point that football debts get paid fully, others don't. If football debts don't get paid in full by a stipulated time the club would be folded by the EFL. Other debts are then paid as a proportion of that owed, scheduled by the administrators. It's the football creditors rule and has been challenged (I think) previously by HMRC.
He’s a journeyman yes but Moore was apparently offered 2.5k a week more to go to Middlesbrough - but chose Cardiff knowing if he does well there he’s pretty much assured of a Wales place.
I know that, what I’m saying is if Wigan got £2 million for him it doesn’t follow we would automatically get the full amount owed, we may only get a % of that and then get more later if there are other football clubs waiting too.
I think geography probably swung it a bit too. He's from Torquay so nearer to home. And as you say playing for Cardiff increasing his chances of a Wales place.
