Scowen has served his suspension so will be available next week. Do we put him straight back in the side? Hourihane picks himself as far as I'm concerned, so that leaves Morsy and Scowen competing for a place providing we play 4-4-2.

For me Morsy is the better player, so should be first choice alongside Hourihane.
As much as I like Scowen, he just isn't as good with his distribution than Morsy is.

Thoughts?

I agree. I can't see how Morsy can be dropped after his last couple of games and you have to play Hourihane

more difficult is do you start with Hammill I'd keep Kent and Marley myself.

Whichever Hecky chooses - it's just good to have three very good central midfielders available.

I think Josh's all round game and consistency give him the edge but I trust PH to get it right. There's also the issue that Morsy won't be able to play the next match against Wigan.

I hadn't thought of that! So that will be the perfect opportunity for Scowen to cement his place in the side again.

Same here, Watkins was quality today, as was Kent. Plus I think Hammill works better when Aidy White is in the side, they seem to have a good understanding.

On that I'd go for Morsy vs Burton, Scowen vs Wigan and whoever impresses most plays vs Forest

I prefer Scowen but Morsy has the shirt & is doing well so I'd probably leave him in

Keeps them on their toes, and we mustn't forget young Josh Kay will now be trying to push his way in.

Two very good players and very good lads. May the best man win (his place).

First time I've seen Morsy yesterday. I have to say I was impressed. He looks comfortable on the ball, was constantly involved, was progressive in his play. Definitely one to look at for when Conor eventually goes. George Moncur must be feeling very silly right now.

Tough call, different kinds of players for me and it depends on the kind of day we're having as to whether Scowen or Morsy is the best option which you don't often know until you're well into the game so either of them would be a good option from the bench.
Farnham_Red mentioned Hammill; it would be harsh to drop Kent, dropping Watkins could start a civil war, he's f**king brilliant, most underrated player for years (probably because he was injured during our amazing run last season). If you were going to put Hammill back in, you'd have to put Watkins up front at the expense of Winnall which, again, is a really tough call. Winnall is our best finisher, but I feel Armstrong can create something out of nothing. This kind of stuff must keep Hecky up at night, but it's a great problem to have I suppose.

Isn't there some kind of deal with Liverpool which states that Kent has to play unless injured?

I would play watkins up top with Armstrong which I don't think has been tried yet. Morsy excluding Fulham has been excellent and heckys philosophy of if you get your chance and take it then you keep your place in the team should be adhered to.
Hammills form dropped when he played with Cole K at left back and it didn't work Yiadom can help regain Hammills form which with his quality is what we need in this league.

Hourihane for Kay, no need for mass tinkering.

I think there is some kind of clause but i think its about being in the first team not necessarily mins on the field and the contribution to salary is based on his game time i believe.

I would say stay with Morsey as he has done enough to keep the shirt. However Scowen will get his chance and then its case of him keeping the shirt. Great to have some competition back in centre mid

I'd stick with Morsy as he's going through a good run of form. MOTM at home the other week setting up both goals, played a part in an all too rare clean sheet away from home against a very good Brentford and yesterday looked after young Kay splendidly.

Morsy should keep his place. He was excellent yesterday and Scowen has to learn some discipline after his sending off.

For me, I think we should go with the same side with the exception of Hourihane in for Kay. The rest of the team deserve to keep their places after yesterday's performance.

Scowen will get his chance against Wigan with Morsy not able to play. It's up to him to put in a performance to keep the shirt. Good for the team to have this level of competition.
