We have managed to get tickets for the Bayern game against Fortuna Dusseldorf (our other team) in a few weeks time.....think unicorn **** in gold leaf studded with diamonds (cost €5 ) Will be meeting some German friends before the game and the night before but was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for post game and Sunday....mainly smaller places (beer halls are all sorted )and wheelchair friendly / flat to get in to. Prosit for any suggestions !!
I went to Audi cup in Munich a few years ago Fantastic place and the germans were top class English gardens pretty decent Ground fair way from centre but the best stadium I have ever been to
Germans are brilliant...that's why we keep going English Garden will be weather dependant in November If all goes well we will be back for a summer trip.....this was a last minute yeswecanhaveawheelchairticketandwecanaffordtheflightsandhotelandseeourGermanteaminastadiumwewouldnevergetachancetovisit type thing
Munich is a brilliant city great people too we went to the old Olympic stadium, as for drinking and eating, well you're in for a treat
I always like Ratskeller in Marienplatz. It is a cellar bar but does have a wheelchair access. Another option is Paulaner I’m Tal. Enter straight from the street again pretty close to Marienplatz usual traditional German food. Augustiner Keller does have street access. All 3 are pretty central and get quite busy with football fans. If you want to come outside the centre the Liwenbrau Keller is a very nice looking building and if memory serves me right easily accessible from the street. Tough times for Fortuna at the minute hopefully when I go over for the Hanover game will be all to play for.
We are staying just down the road from the Lowenbrau so that will definitely be visited We have tickets for the Dortmund away game the week before Hannover but might get back for that one....you never know Will be going to Hannover away (if the game time is friendly) as we are in Berlin for Christmas and ONLY 2 hours by train. Do you follow Fortuna ?
Not really love Düsseldorf but never been to watch fortuna. We are going for a long weekend and doing the fortuna game and going to Bochum on the Sunday. Last year we did Leverkusen and Fortuna second eleven v RWE.
Brilliant place and people....fell in love with it the first time we went. Started going as the missus wanted to go somewhere different and see a game and as she is in a wheelchair options are limited. Got tickets, went once....been going back ever since. You won't be disappointed...even if relegated. The Altstadt is pure class...Zum Schlussel is our lokal
