It's as good as any. I'm Barnsley born and bred, Barnsley through and through, supported the Club for nearing 30 years now, so aye, I think I can still share an opinion.

    My opinion is this...

About 20 months ago, Barnsley were rock bottom of L1. We had Bree, Hourihane, Scowen, Winnall, Mawson, Watkins and Roberts. Things appeared bleak. And the more cynical BBS voices were predicting doom and more doom with gloom for comfort..

    They were wrong.

    As you were.

I appreciate we've come a long way but really we should have never been in that position to start with, which is why these sort of statements never particularly inspire me

Yep and some at that deep desperate time were advocating the removal of the manager LJ.

Why is it not "we" were wrong, rather than "they"?

Just pointing out that nobody, not one person posting on here knows what is going to happen in terms of results.

Well I'm happy that we kept him till he decided to go.

He was PC's adopted blue eyed son, and PC showed faith, and it turned around.

We were doing well by the time he naffed off.

    We've been here before.

I wasn't wrong for holding the opinion that LJ should have walked after the FA Cup defeat. Twas an opinion.

But if it soothes you somewhat, then chuck me into the mix with the cynics who were back then predicting doom and gloom ahead.

Still the same point I'm making.

    WE were wrong.

    Better?

    Up The ******* Reds.

Sorry for being a voice in this, but.... my personal feeling in all of this is... Barnsley are my team. I will follow them no matter what. We all want success but in life that does not usually occur very often. We were bottom of L1 at Xmas last season. We finished 6th and got promoted! We all say we trust hecky, and I do. So let's just get behind them. I will be at every single game possible to do this. Let's hope for success! Just don't expect it. We are doing the best we can in the market as we can in this day n age. You reds!!

I still recall following the draw at home against the Blunts you correctly predicting WE would make the play offs.

    No worries.

    You agree though I'm sure.

None of us knows what lies ahead. Part of the attraction, no?

    Aye.

I felt the players were good enough and believed the manager was the issue. But in fairness, he then went and won 6 on the spin and took us to Wembley...

I know nowt. Never suggested anything different.

@tobyornottoby knows that. He just likes a joust from time to time.

About 40 years ago we were bottom of the4th division without a pot to pis5 in, peaks and troughs and all that.

Wonder if people moaned as much as they do now because even though it's not always perfect Its fantastic to be a Barnsley fan. Id have it no other way.

I will always be darn't well. Usually in the beer queue. I'm hoping that 15 minutes waiting for ale is not not what lies ahead.

There's always plenty to talk about, even more so at the moment. No need to be gloomy.

I look back at the near 30 years I've been going and I think we've done quite well. I've seen us win promotion three times, lift a trophy at Wembley, contest playoff finals, contest an FA Cup semi at Wembley, I've seen my favourite player (except Gazza) play and score against us twice (Bergkamp), ups and downs. The ups were unreal, the downs were horrendous. It's what it's all about.

Imagine supporting Everton or summat. Boring.

If everyone is honest none of us really thought we could turn things round. The catalyst for me was when Adam Hammill
came back. I started to believe we could really do something after the York City JPT tie.

I will always look back on our day at Wembley after we beat Oxford as a stand out moment in the 30 years I've supported the Club second only to the feelings I had after our promotion to the Premiership on the day we beat Bradford.

The feeling heading back North as a winner after that game against Oxford United especially after our last two visits against Ipswich and Cardiff ended in disappointment was very special indeed.
