This is exactly what I was hinting at. Loan the likes of De Laet and Hogan who are out of favour but still quality

Two players come to mind playing in a ***** team though, Oviedo, Kone, lets buy quality players from a struggling team and do whats been done to us for years.

Any one of them , two would be good . We need somebody to help Bradshaw out , and need a striker to maybe create a chance himself

Given the new owners and the resale value he could offer I don’t think the financial side of things is out of reach. I take the point about other teams if the rumours are anything other than that.

Peterborough chairman said on twitter yesterday Neither Maddison or Marriott would be sold. And def not for a paltry £5m each,

Of course they are, we have billionaire owners and the players mentioned are either out of favour or available on the cheap.

None of those 3 are better than Brad Potts or Angus MacDonald!

I'd listen to the press conference with our new owners. If you think we're going to be signing a 31 year old centre half who's probably on at least 15k a week in Paul McShane, you're going to be bitterly disappointed.

As for the 3 I've suggested, Leonard has been the player of the year for the last 3 years at Southend, Oztumer is a creative midfield player with a goal record of 1 in 3 for Walsall and is in the last 6 months of his contract, and Wallace is one of the best young centre backs outside the top 2 tiers. Will they be an enhancement on what we have now, who knows? I reckon so. However considering we're supposed to be looking at players with potential future value, I'd say signing Wallace for example, makes much more sense than signing Paul McShane.

I know what the plan is but they must realize that without championship experience the whole thing (revenue, academy, attendances, overall revenue, 6m in tv money) will take a significant nose dive. Going to League 1 will set us back hugely, so as I've said before we must focus 100% on ensuring survival.

    In that order.

Someone who can pass a ball to a strikers feet, rather than at head height.

    I wouldn't want Scott Hogan.

He's scored 1 goal in 23 appearances for villa and doesn't offer anything different to what we already have, which is several strikers that don't score and another one that runs around a lot wearing gloves and can only score from 6 yards.

Villa have paid a stupid amount of money for him, and he'll be on big money so will be difficult to move on.

Dave smith, Harry Watson, Bill Jones and Eric Hirst.

Those are the names I'm throwing into the hat.

That would make me chuckle. Millwall dislike us enough as it is. It would be great for our "nothing club" to take their main striker

Barely anyone you have mentioned is realistic, yes we have billionaire owners and we could in theory afford all these for mere pocket change to Mr Lee but they have clearly stated in all press conferences that we ARE NOT throwing money at it but will spend more as revenue goes up. As they have only been owners for a week or so I can't see how revenue has gone up that much so far.

Paul McShane - Pretty sure he starts most weeks for Reading, no idea what his wage is but maybe could get him depending on wage and how much they value him but cannot see it
Jack Marriott - Posh wont sell for cheap as mentioned in post so hardly a "cheap" option
Ritchie De Laet - Could maybe snag a loan but depends on wage he is on and percentage Villa would pay
James Bree - Again could maybe snag a loan but depends on wage he is on and percentage Villa would pay
Matt Smith - Maybe the only realistic option
Luke Steele - Only signed for Bristol in summer, will not leave again to us
Scott Hogan - Huge wages and been getting some game time at Villa recently, they would have to pay the majority of his wages
Birkir Bjarnason - Could maybe snag a loan but depends on wage he is on and percentage Villa would pay
Bright Osayi-Samuel - Only just signed for QPR in summer - maybe a loan if they don't want him but why would they loan to another relegation contender?
Aaron Gunnarson - Plays fairly regular for Cardiff, no idea what his wage is but maybe could get him depending on wage and how much they value him but cannot see it
