If not Macca then Darren Moore. The WBA players will run through brick walls for him apparently. He also seemed to be popular behind the scenes at Oakwell. That'll do for me. If he was going to get the WBA job, he would have it by now.

So we shouldn't have appointed Allan Clarke or Norman Hunter then?

Don't want the Cowley brothers after watching lump it up Lincoln.

You've not taken into account the points he gets from draws. He'd have 58 points just from wins. Of 1944 points he's won 1005, which is around 51%, 51% of a season's total points is around 69 points per season.

I got the 41.8% from the stats on Wikipedia. I worked the total points on a single season viz:

    46 games x 3 points = 138 divided by 100 = 1.38 x 41.8 = 57.684 or 58 points.
How do you get 69 points Skryptic.?

If he takes 1005 points from 648 games that is an average of 1.55 points per game.

In a 46 game season that would equate to 71 points.

    Or something

You're multiplying 1.38 by 41.8, which is his win percentage. He will get additional points from draws, which aren't included in the win percentage. If you take the total points he could have won, 1944, and the points he did win, 1005, you can see he wins about 51% of available points. So 1.38 * 51.

Lou Gramm? Bit left field, might be mates with Billy Bean though.

It's interesting isn't it? Really all that matters is points on one level - that is how the table is decided end of story. Yet Everton and West Ham have sacked their managers because of their fans - both teams were going down until they appointed them. Just goes to show either how stupid fans are about what they expect from their clubs or the owners should think carefully making sure the manager fits in with the culture of the club, or maybe a bit of both? Right now, I would take anyone who gets us promoted, I don't care what the football looks like - I'd like someone who's a bit street wise and willing to give the opposition a bit of umph - we were way to gullible this season and let too many teams come and ref the game while playing dirty. If nothing else I'd like some of that right back at those teams who try it on.
