Mowatt for me. Depending on how the new centre half’s are regarding leadership

I don't know their personalities, so hard to pick. I always thing a central midfielder or CB are ideal choices, and as all our CB's are new it's not likely to be one of them. Mowatt is most likely to be regular starter, but I'm not sure he is vocal enough. Tough call.

Trouble is I dont know who will be regular starters at this stage - only certainties who arent new are Mowatt and Woodrow and its hard to really predict for certain which of the new ones will start most games which makes picking a captain tricky. I generally prefer a Centre half or Centre mid as captain - If only Pinnock had stayed. I agree McGeehan would be a good choice but will he start?

Feel like I’m repeating myself every time this comes up. The job of captain has a lot more to do with what happens off the field than on it these days where budgets are tight. Davies was superb at it and well respected, whereas Angus was a bit of a liability.

The captain will be the player that the dressing room feels can take on the extra responsibility, sets the standard in training, is punctual, and not just about who looks to shout the most on the pitch. Not being the official captain doesn’t stop you from being vocal.

Pinnock would have been obvious choice. Think Mowatt most likely to start most games, but is he captain material? I don't know on that. I'm sure DS will make right choice.

I think Mowatt being captain would eek out another 10 per cent in his play.

I said Mowatt to lads a few weeks ago, seems involved in most things off the pitch too and appears a likeable respected team member
