I think Paul Warne from Rotherham ticks a load of boxes. Young. Done a great job turning round a Rotherham side that got smashed in the championship the year before. Knows the league. 3rd highest scorers in L1 this year so play attractive football. Always comes across really well in interviews and seems to have a clear vision of what he wants. Not sure he'd swap them for us though
Well if that’s the level we’re looking at then I’d be really disappointed . Mr Lee etc want to market the club so I’d be surprised if it isn’t a name that’s well known . Just my thoughts . When Nixon says a young English manager does he mean someone that’s already a manager like Paul hurst or a rookie like Paul Scholes , frank Lampard etc ?
Whilst maybe not a candidate for manager or head coach as things stand, I'd love to see someone like Nicky Eaden have a role. He's coached for a while now, limited success admittedly. My own gut feeling for our manager would be Graham Alexander. He has some experience at this level as player and manager. That said, in my lifetime as a supporter, our most successful managers have generally been rookies - Clarke, Hunter, Wilson, Ritchie, Heckingbottom.
It's a fair call although I think his heart is at Rotherham. Saying that I thought Judas was here for the long run . As boring and dull as it sounds I'd take Grayson just to get us out of league 1 .
Heckingbottom wasn't successful really, he just hijacked a decent team with momentum . Fair call on the others .
Uwe Rosler who started the ball rolling at Brentford and who last year got Fleetwood to the play offs. Plays exciting football with younger players. We all obviously want to get out of this league but for me just as important is looking forward to Saturday all week to see a good game of football. I wouldn't get that with Grayson or McCarthy or some of the other dinosaurs mentioned.
It seems like 2 of the managers at the top of the shortlist haven't even finished their seasons yet, so the new manager is unlikely to be appointed before next week at the earliest.
