    Therein lies the problem. £20m in transfer fees (so far) never to be spent. While charging folk £36 to sit in a stadium that hasn't had so much as slick of paint in twenty years.

    Your attitude in this thread appear to be that of a bully. Instead of engaging with people you have insulted them and tried bullying them about not renewing season tickets, you have started with aggressive bullying 'bye then' posts and then you have thrown around insults and you have the cheek to call others bullies.

    A year after they won promotion, our 1978/79 team had been entirely sold off, let go on free transfers, or retired by the Summer of 1980. Only Phil Chambers and McCarthy from the standard starting XI remained, along with a couple of reserves (Glyn Riley & Ian Banks).

    I loved that team as well. Looking back though we would have been destroyed in the league above with it.

    Wasn't that through choice? In terms of replacing them with more expensive versions or ' better' players than cutting costs? I think it also happened when we went down to L1 under Wilson tbf.

    As I remember it that was part of developing and making the team better - evidenced by promotion in 81.

    At the minute we seem to be just about liquidating assets.

    No two set of circumstances are ever EXACTLY the same, I'm simply pointing out that it's happened before.
    I understand and respect the views & opinions of other fans with regards to the current situation of buying/selling players, even though I have a totally different interpretation. I'm not going to trade insults with anyone for having the audacity to think differently to me and would like that to be reciprocated.

    That's the point I was stumbling for cheers. The Huddersfield team that ends next season will bear little resemblance to the one that got promoted that's progress. It's hard to see that in what we are doing ( at least on the field)

    The Dodworth Godfather did just answer my question tbf. I had also forgotten about the Wilson relegation team.
