But Scotland is the richest country in the world , awash with oil and golf courses. We're all going to be rich

This is awesome, how to address underinvestment in northern post-industrial communities to the cost of watching the Jesus and Mary Chain in under 20 posts. Love the BBS.

Rich Scots taking from us deprived Englanders yet again. It all ties in.

    Tangent-tastic.

Also, I agree with your original point. All areas that need added investment should get a higher proportion of spend. Although I don't think that should be at the expense of Scotland or NI. They need it too. It should be at the expense of the South East.

For some reason I always seemed to miss them. I saw them once when Bobby Gillespie was drumming and it got a bit frisky. Tweeted a picture of my ticket from that gig last night cover price 4 quid. Maybe they are applying the Barnett formula to gig pricing

I don't want anything taking away from Scotland either. I want us to be brought up to their level, not them down to ours.

Completely agree. Think thats the point people miss too about how effective a politician Alex Salmond is, whatever they might think about him.

I suspect the Scottish Parliament has maneuvered itself into a corner over public financing. Its difficult to go from portraying yourself as a cash rich wealthy naion to then try and defend the inequities of the Barnett Formula. I think part of the tory agenda for further devolution of powers will be to revisit this.
