Can anyone say "Gulf of Tonkin". We, along with our US buddies seem to be desperate to go to war with Iran.

A bad move if you ask me.

Err, hang on. All we were doing was implementing our EU obligations and agreement by enforcing EU sanctions.

It doesn’t appear we have done anything wrong.

My only query, is throughout all of this, I’ve heard little comment from other EU nations in support or even physical support out at sea for us.

It seems to me, that as usual, only the British seem to actual enforce these sanctions.

    In September 2000, the "Project of a new American Century" was released. In this document it listed several countries ear-marked for over-throw or regime-change. These Countries were;

    1. Afghanistan
    2. Iraq
    3. Libya
    4. Venezuela
    5. Iran

Can anyone else see a pattern?

Totally agree. And for me, this is another example.

For years the EU seem to put these sanctions in place, and only the British usually seem to physically enforce them.

Anyone having a pop at Britain by seizing the Iranian tanker is also having a pop at the EU too. Regardless of what the Americans are doing.

It’s like the fishing quotas if we catch fish in Eu waters we can’t keep them but it’s different for Eu vessels in our waters

Really? The western powers could have cited (manipulated) many 'issues' over the last 40 odd years to rage war on Iran.
    Why not then but now?

Proxy wars and blatant lies to manufacture long lasting hot wars. All to secure oil fields and keep the military industrial arms complex going. The world's biggest enemies are climate change and poverty but let's not add them to the list.

In this case how the exactly are we trying to manipulate something? We have instructed vessels to avoid the area and its not even one of our ships in reality. Talk about jumping to conclusions

Yep , and they all banged the drum for this . Both sides of the house on both sides of the pond . It's these types of actions that have left our politics so dysfunctional .

The Iranian ship was seized due to potential breaches of EU sanctions and under EU directive and would be released one assurances and guarantees were given by the Iranian government. There really is no excuse for the Iranians to seize the British boat.

I'm amazed that some will find anything to side with another country and point the finger of blame back at the west.

Maybe Iran has their own sanctions or is it only the west that is allowed such rights ?
