Donny fan on radio Sheffield. Cracking away win for them, but all he wanted to talk about was us and how they were right on our tails. Even predicted a Wembley playoff final between us and them.
Radio Sheff Utd today though , got i my car, drove through the football traffic, back to Wakefield, 35 minutes, all they had on were Wilder and Billy Sharp and Utd fans - chuffin joke. Then the presenter says "we want to hear from all fans", except you have some DeeDah bore king repeating himself for 10 minutes, going on, and on, and on, then you give a fan from another club 30 seconds and cut them off.
Twas ever thus. Sheff Utd/Wendy fan: talks about the goal(s), league position, referee, possession, corners, pie at half time, how he's still got Pressman's gloves framed - allowed to talk for 10 minutes. Other fans: 30 seconds of the main talking point of the match. The reason i stopped listening in 2009.
I just stopped listening because hardly anyone who rings up can talk in coherent sentences and I came to realise that listening to boring semi literate people talking about other clubs was not very interesting.
The Station should have been embarrassed by that. I actually turned over to 5 live when, having had to listen to Billy Sharp prattling on they started to interview Wilder. 15 Minutes later I tuned back into Radio Sheff and he was still rattling on. Quite unbelievable. Some of the Sheffield Madrid fans must have been having apoplexy!
Breathing down our necks, whilst they were getting well and truly stuffed at Fleetwood on Boxing Day, we were stuffing a promotion rival in Peterborough. I bet he wasn’t ringing in to Dee Darr then.
3 wins and a draw against some of the best teams in the division with our top goal scorer missing half of the games.Top two within a month, wish l’d took some odds three weeks ago. Next time the Pikeys won’t catch us on an off day.
If we could manage a win at Luton it would surely be one of the best Christmas periods we have ever had. 3 wins in the Christmas week against 3 sides in the top 6
Said same about Charlton today. They pressed us at their place, and probably planned to do the same today, but we scored early and ruined that plan.
To be fair they are only 3 points behind us & could well end up in the play offs with us. I don't listen to Radio Sheffield, so the guy might have been a ****. The fact is he's not wrong in his assertion. I'm hoping we strengthen, rather than weaken the squad in January. If that happens we may get top two. We have nearly an injury free squad at the moment & it is no coincidence we are on a decent run. A loss of Dougall, Bahre, Woodrow, Mowatt or Moore & we are weakened if a couple of those are out. CB at least we have Jackson & Fryers, if needed, both who are good enough at this level.
