Cheers for that. Once a year is poor when you could have a dirty seat 364 days of the year. When the stands are tidied of matchday rubbish they must see the state of seats with dirt, cobwebs and bird **** either on the red plastic or on the black metal it's attached to. They don't even have to dry after a wash to save time because they can be let to naturally dry. Just needs 10 seconds max with a scrubbing brush with some soap suds on the end and jobs a good un.
Agree with you there Dreamboy. Get someone employed on minimum wage with the sole job of cleaning seats and making sure all litter etc. is removed from the seating area. When we're struggling for fans as it is we should be doing everything we can to make Oakwell a pleasant place to visit.
And what about before we get back to winning ways? Just sit/stand in silence? Sure there's never been obscenities shouted at a any football match ever. People constantly moaning about the lack of atmosphere and now this?
Aye we will magically start playing like Brazil again and the atmosphere will be like the Maracana. People making noise at a football match shame on them...
23,007 seats x 10 seconds = 230070 seconds = 3834.5 minutes = 64 hours @ 8 hours per working day = 8 days. Assuming it takes the bloke zero seconds to get from one seat to the next, he has no breaks and doesn't fill his bucket with water. You're right, piece of piss. Not saying the seats shouldn't get cleaned, but it's not 'jobs a good un' it's a serious undertaking that requires significant man hours.
Im sure they could get some school kids to do it in the school holidays, say 4 per stand, give them free tickets to a game with a stadium tour thrown in, free programme etc
Hi Dennis-Skinner. I set up this forum and along with a few others run in day to day. I'm also on the Supporter's Trust board so meet regularly with the club to put fans issues etc across. The pigeon mess one was raised recently.
There are some reight mongs on this thread. If these things are going off in the stand, then rather than blame the people that are trying to police the ******* issue, blame the bellends who are bringing fireworks into the ground, breakimg seats and all the other **** that goes off. Yes, it doesnt excuse poor, heavy handed stewarding but **** me sideways, if everybody came to a game and sang along without breaking the ******* law then there wouldnt be a problem. I like to get ****ered and sing along with the best of them but up to this point Ive never had one crossed word with a steward at Oakwell.
blame the bellends who are bringing fireworks into the ground, breakimg seats You make it sound like it happens every game. I've not seen any smoke canisters since what the Sheffield Wednesday game so it's hardly reverent to what happened on Saturday on the couple of Saturdays before.
Just because you havent seen it mongboy tyke doesnt mean it hasnt happened. I saw the ugliest man i have ever seen at the Blackburn match act like a complete ******* ape. He deserved to be booted out, he acted like a thug. I saw it with my own eyes... If you are saying that the fans in the top corner have not been breaking the law over the last few months then you are an even bigger mong than I thought. Anyways, if you feel strongly about it, then email Ben and act like an adult rather than just slating him off on here. You keep thinking about the problems and not the solutions, you gret Joey.
I guess the point being you should be able to easily isolate the individuals Via CCTV and ask the police to arrest then issue banning orders. If our club really doesn't know how to do this we can request guidance from the many other clubs that manage to do so. I have no truck with idiots but these are a very tiny minority and the tactics currently being used are just as idiotic.
