I am in shock. Needs a stand named after him or a statue at least.

Thank you for everything Patrick. RIP.

Just reading again that piece in the Derby program earlier this season brings a lump to the throat. He said then that he didn't expect to live to see this season out, and he was right.

I know this terrible disease has claimed much younger people, and will continue to do so, but 66 is no age to die. Not these days. He should have been looking forward to enjoying his 70s, his 80s and maybe beyond. He's at peace now so that is some consolation for his family, but only a small one.

Thank you Mr Cryne for everything you did for Barnsley Football Club. You will never, NEVER be forgotten.

That was tough to read at the time but it’s got a whole lot worse now. I’ll forever be grateful for what he’s done for our club.

Rip mr cryne. Thanks for everything regarding the football club which has continued to give my family and me some great times together.
I hope in turn that your own family can find some comfort in the Barnsley people's appreciation for your endeavours.

I really hope we do something permanent to remember him. Maybe a statue, but I would like it to be situated where it could "see" the pitch. Watching our team play obviously brought him immense pleasure, so it would be a fitting tribute(in my humble opinion, of course...)

    p.s.

Lets stand Mr Cryne's at the side of one of Rimmo too. Both 'Tarn through and through...

We are all forever in the debt of this man.

Sleep well Mr Cryne, your rest is premature but well earned.

Devastating news and a cruel thing to happen to a man who acted selflessly in putting his own money into something those less wealthly than himself were passionate about. Getting the takeover deal over the line when he was a very poorly man is an incredible sacrifice. We should always be grateful for both of these things.

Condolences to the Cryne family. Hopefully a big warm showing of support from the Oakwell faithful on Saturday can offer some solace amidst the grief and pride in what Patrick did to contribute to the fulfillment of so many others.

Could the east stand be named in his honour I wonder. Along with the flag we need something that makes us remember Mr Cryne as soon as we set foot into oakwell not just now but in decades to come .
