RIP Mr Cryne, a true gent.
Like many, if not most, fans, I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but today feels like I've lost a close friend due to the act of generosity given to us all in saving the club we love.
Rest in Peace.
RIP Mr. Cryne, one of lifes true Gentlemen!!
Thank you Patrick. RIP.
Condolences to the Cryne family - I’m sure they know how PC was revered by all BFF fans
As one barnsley fan to another, I doff my cap to you Mr Cryne and thank you for all that you have done for the club supported by generations of both our families. I pray that you rest in peace and send my condolences to your family and friends.
RIP Patrick. Having met him on several occasions at fans forums and at our poy awards.I can honestly say he was a truly humble man. Sincere condolences to all his family.
Just got in from work and read this, so sad some lovely testimonials and messages show how much he was thought of.
RIP Patrick, one of football's best. One of the stand's being renamed the Patrick Cryne Stand would be a fitting tribute.
RIP Patrick and thanks for all you did for our club.
Given his commitment to it and the ideas behind it I think it would be lovely to doing something around a permanent memorial in or around the academy.
Not unexpected, but a shock nonetheless.
The one who saved us gets to team up with the one who made us.
We should all be eternally grateful for all that Mr Cryne did for this wonderful club of ours. I know I am.
A stand named after him would be a fitting and lasting tribute.
Just got in from work to this news, been incommunicado all day.
R.I.P. Patrick and Thank You.
