INTERVIEW | POYA ASBAGHI Interviews Following his arrival at Oakwell on Thursday evening, Poya Asbaghi sat down for his first official interview with iFollow Barnsley. Continue reading on the official site...
Based on that, a cynic might say he was head hunted in order to create more saleable assets from our academy. I couldn't possibly comment.
I’m no board lover by any means but they’ve never pretended that wasn’t a thing. In fact they said improving and increasing the value of young players to sell at a profit was the main way the club will become self-sufficient.
Well we're certainly never going to survive at Championship level on money we take on the gate. Never could, never will.
Some might say standard fayre. However, I'm optimistic. If he lives by the principles he spoke about, namely, hard work, intensity, and high energy levels, then may be some of the doubters might have a different view in a few weeks time. Thanks Comms Team for the early interview with him.
Its a depressingly short sighted emphasis though isn't it? Everyone's a selling club except for maybe the top 5 clubs in Europe, most teams don't eagerly advertise the fact and talk about success as being measured in the bids they get for their players like our CEO did the other week, I mean, develop the team and give the fans some joy, we all know that we are going to sell any decent player we develop after a given period, but just keep your knickers on until at least the second date for Gods sake!!
Oh don’t get me wrong i agree! Actually the best way to increase the value of players is to be **** hot at football, which normally requires a bit of ambition and speculation.
Great interview. He's a good communicator and appears more assertive and passionate than the previous head coach which I think will endear him more to the fans. Let's hope the football and performances are just as good
Gotta give the guy a chance but he comes over well on the interview and seems to have a bit of character as does the coach too. M Schopp when interviewed never really came across well.
Got to agree with this. I just never took to Schopp. And it was the first time I’d thought that it was never going to work for him.
Just watched the clip on iFollow now. Speaks well and looks to have some passion/fire in his belly. Good early signs.
I’m that jaded I’ve not even watched it. I’m gonna just wait and see how things look out on the pitch.
