    This is a strange one. Why would we have brought in a loan player for our development squad, especially one on a season long loan. It means that we have only 1 potential loan left for the January transfer window. There must be something going on that I have not spotted. Any ideas?

    The rules may have changed recently, but I think that loans from abroad don't count towards the quota of loan players

    Makes sense to me. If he likes it over here, the transfer may well become permanent. If we like him, same outcome. I think also that someone at board level has seriously started touting us as the club whose development system produced John Stones. Good sales stuff going on there. Well done to capitalise whilst the story is still hot.

    It think we've signed him to appease the West Yorkshire Oracle. That and his parent club will be expecting us to send back John Stones. I hope we're on % of future transfers!!

    The Press release states...

    Julio joined the Club last night on loan for the 2016/17 season and will initially join up with the Reds development squad...

    "Initially"...could well be in the first team squad by early winter.
