move along.....nothing to see here then.... did anyone expect to see anything different?? Ryan and Aidy - both too injury prone. not seen much of the rest, so nothing that we couldn't have guessed. Josh and Marley looking at other options - obviously they were offered contracts a while ago and didn't immediately sign them, so no issues there. the loan players returned to their parent clubs.
Pretty much as expected.Good luck to them all.Special mention to Scowen and Watkins who both gave there all every time they wore the red shirt.It is what it is no different to all the other football clubs in the league.We already have the nucleus of a decent team.We now also have more finance and scope to mould the next Barnsley squad with as Heckys says "better quality players".Let the fun begin.
Not much more to say only I think we all expected it. If it's any consolation there seems to be a number of clubs in the EFL who are undergoing the same churn. Depressing thing is we won't be at the head of the queue when it comes to the wages we can pay. More likely to attract a hungry youngish player or players who (a) want to play for the Reds and (b) in so doing know that Hecky and his team will hopefully improve their game which in turn could eventually lead to a big money move elsewhere a la Stones, Mawson, Bree, Hourihane, Holgate etc.
Being disappointing and being expected are not mutually exclusive. Sorry to see Scowen and Watkins leave, I was happy in-denial prior to this formal announcement.
