    Nice post that. Good man.
I, like many folk, assumed it was a Burton fan taken ill. To which I thought our fans were very humble and respectful to a fellow fan.
Turns out, it was one of our own (at which point, I would like to say, I have heard he's stable and in safe hands) for which I commend the Burton fans, as it turns out it was THEM who were humble and respectful.
Hope to God this chap pulls through, and, as stated in the Half a Time Draw post, we can ensure the decent fans, of theirs, aren't out of pocket for the rescheduled fixture.
Football United. Brought it home today.

I f I ever have a cardiac arrest at the game - please treat me away from the playing area, I would not want the match disrupted and the fans who have travelled a long way to get to the game to go home out of pocket. Let's get things in perspective.

So if you ever have a cardiac arrest, you want them to do the most dangerous thing possible and move you away, potentially causing a lot more damage and probably killing you?

Today has been an absolute **** show from start to finish, peaking with the awful news about Steve, so I'm basing my interpretation of this reply on the mood I'm in.

But what the actual f***? I'm failing to detect the badly placed humorous sarcasm right?

What’s wrong with you? You don’t move someone to start CPR. You do it there and then.

Why react? It is blindingly obvious to all that this poster is typing the most outragous thing he can think of, in order to get a reaction.
And he does, so he does it again.
Stop being so loudly offended and he'll get bored.

I actually left shortly after the air ambulance landed. I no longer felt like watching a football match so I fully understand the decision. I don't think there is a right and wrong in this situation to play or not. For me the ones making the call, the players, staff and ref would have my support which ever way they had gone with it. Those concerned made the decision they thought best which is all anyone can do.

I might have done the same but was in the official car park and didn't think I could have moved the car. I must admit I was relieved when the game was called off as it just wouldn't have felt right to watch a game after all that. and I am certain the players wouldn't have felt right playing either.
I have nothing but praise for the way absolutely everyone behaved, -both sets of fans, the players and staff the medical staff from both clubs and of course the emergency services.
It was strange driving home to Farnham last night, I felt much more down than I do after a defeat though I was very glad to read when I got home that things were better than I feared.

I suspect that at times, Gally, you wonder why you bother with this BBS stuff. I've never used the Ignore button, but this past 24 hours has seen a few near misses. Has something been put in the water supply or summat? A bloke nearly dies and some people think it's ok to post whatever crap comes into their heads and/or to commence all-out warfare.

    But I digress...

Best wishes to Steve and his family. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
Well done to the emergency services yesterday and to all who played a part in keeping Steve alive.
Good call made by all parties regarding postponing the game.
All the best to John Peachey. Not the best-worded post I've ever read, but not a hanging offence either.
