'the problem is that set plays are part of a football game and in that respect we are not ready'

    Speechless

Why did he choose to bring in a CH who has absolutely zero aerial presence? No one to blame for that one but himself.

Im told (think it was on sky sports) thst set pieces are responsible for a third of goals scored.
With this in mind and i know, our players are genrally not as good as their opposite number, why don't we work this to our favour and spend extra time on them?
Liverpool (and im not saying to do this) this season have invested in a throw in coach, now that is attention to detail.

Can't believe this bit "We are happy with the players we brought into the club" . He must not be watching the same games as me

It’s not just a case of working on them though. There’s a lack of height in the side to start with. We’ve then made our crucial CH signing of the window one for a third rate defender who’d struggle to out jump me for a high ball from what I saw yesterday. I know it’s only one game but I don’t think he won a header yesterday. Charlton aren’t that big a side either.

Lots of talk of the second half. What about the first half? When we were dog ****. When the game was lost. Almost every team can play well when they're 2-0 down and the opposition have stopped playing.

“We didn’t learn from the last game; it was the same mistakes. This is the reason why we lost.

We didn't learn from the last game? We've been making the same mistakes all bloody season. For the love of all that is holy are the fans the only ones watching our games.

It looks that way, but we don't know what constraints he was working under. He must have had some, otherwise he would have signed John Stones.

Agreed, he needs to get real, sack off the pretty sh*t and get back to basics. WTF are they actually doing on the training ground?

If you'd told me that a few weeks ago, I'd have thought it was madness. Now I'm wondering where we can get one.

Given the number of foul throws we're conceding it doesn't seem like we're practicing throw ins on the training ground.

I like many others are amazed at his comments. He knows it's a real issue so in that case work on it religiously, even if it means double sessions for the defence. Get the basics right and build a platform to develop the fancy stuff from there.
The throw in example you use is just beyond embarrassing, even my 6 year old lad can get that right when he plays on a Saturday morning!

Just a couple of visits should do it. They could class it as charity work. :)
