On the plus side ...... why would Hecky want to leave at this time?

........... just when infront of him there's a bright new horizon opening up?
He's had to put up with enough sh.ite to last him a lifetime while he's been manager at Barnsley.
So why leave when a new owner is reportedly going to takeover?
A new owner with 'loads of money'.

All what's needed - is a phone call to him from the potential new owners, and of what I've seen of Heckys interviews, then I'm sure he'd stay.

The same papers that are saying Sunderland are interested (the sun). Like I said on another thread in his own words he has turned down bigger clubs and more money to play and coach for bfc. Ex season ticket holder, so maybe they is something in it after all Sunderland is a hard job, club in turmoil and results needed fast. I just wouldn' of thought that job would interest him unless like said in sun he knows he will get the push.

To be fair, Sunderland are a fcuking huge club. Bigger than Man City or Chelsea in terms of fanbase.

He'd be mad not to be interested. Even if our takeover had gone through and we were not selling our best players all the time, the pull of a club like that must count for something.

At least it's not Manor Top, the deluded blue pigs, or the perpetual Champions of Europe.

What makes a huge club? Large crowds or history of success? I would say Nottingham Forest are a bigger club based on history than Sunderland but Hecky didn't want that job.

On that calculation...... you must be shocked and surprised Hecky is not at Coventry or Portsmouth by now ?

Bigger than the same man city who were still turning out 30k crowds at Maine road in the old division 2 (league 1 now) in 1999 I don't think so.

Because he reads the forums and as a result, he's a broken man.

Broken? I'm sure he's got HT on ignore.
Can't even to begin to understand the theory that an incoming owner would want to replace a highly rated, in demand Manager. Surely he is one of the main reasons the club has such a high profile and a plan that others want to emulate.

Happens alot when takeovers happen, but in the summer hecky was heavily linked to Sunderland and he said he wasn't interested and would take something big for him to leave and that he wanted to achieve things here. What's changed scince then?

Maybe it happens with middle of the road managers but why would anybody want to get rid of a manager who is constantly linked with interest from other clubs. That would be barking

I can't see hecky leaving, it's his project, his players, his hometown club, his town where his family are settled, he won't be skint, he has a long career ahead of him, massive potential for improvement all round with the takeover.

The Sunderland job is tough, their fans don't want him, potential to harm his career if it doesn't go well, travel each day or uproot his family, more pressure and expectation.

Most importantly me and my lad don't want him to go, that should be enough.
