is whether our new owners have bought a (1) Football Club to make it successful or (2) a business to make money. Whilst (1) should lead on to (2), the reverse is not necessarily the case. The next 10 hours could well be key to our future!

I think what they do in the summer will prove a lot more.

Agreed, i'd be amazed if the timing of the takeover and subsequent activities would allow them to deviate significantly from any existing plans and forecasts for this January transfer window.

I think it goes without saying they want both. These guys haven’t bought a club to squirrel away a few million quid in transfer fees every season. It wouldn’t be worth the effort. The goal, imo, is undoubtedly the premier league. I think what you’re referring to is the way in which they plan to achieve that, but we won’t know that for sure for another three transfer windows at least.

I don't think this transfer window will dictate everything that happens going forward, neither ones it tell us anything about the new owners intentions.

It's just another window. There will be plenty more. Some will be productive and some will be frustrating.

As I see it, we have brought in 3 players and are linked with others.

Some clubs around us hadn't made a single signing last time I looked.

It's interesting, we have two chairmen connected to America and football is going the way of the NFL whether we like it or not. I watch more NFL in a week than l watch football and judging by the way those teams are run l doubt relegation and the loss of £6 million revenue will the be-all and end-all, if they're in it for the long term it will merely be a blip.

We need signings like, long, Hammill, and Fletcher, to keep us up, if they’re not at least going to try and get them in then they may as well have just bought a league one club because that’s what they’ll end up with.

I don't think its true to say that a successful football club will generally make money. You can splash the cash and buy success and lose millions.

Similarly, I think you can make money from a club without it being particularly successful. I wouldn't say we've been particularly successful recently but we've made a hell of a lot of money.

Steady on. They’ve only just taken over. Staying in the Division is key for now. This window is merely firefighting

    True.
But dropping into league 1 might mean years in the wilderness.
So if I was them I'd be saying to Hecky - without going overboard what do you need.
And if I was Hecky I'd say - purchase either Fletcher or McBurnie.
