    My vote would be:

Worst:- that winger we got from West Ham twice forgot his name.

Worst: Richard Naylor. Deon Burton was bad enough, but not one **** was given by this lovely person. The way he strolled around in that Norwich game, I wanted to string him up.

Best: O'Grady and Redfearn are both fantastic players, but as they both signed permanently for us I don't view them as loan players. With that in mind, John Curtis and Ryan Shotton were both very good, but I think Chopra had the most impact.

    Depends how far back.

Lee Glover was useless despite high hopes. Colin Hoyle and Dean Connolly offered little.

Think best ones already mentioned. Plus Trippier

Colin Hoyle & Dean Connelly weren't loan signings, though. They were both signed on free transfers from Arsenal.

I don't usually judge players so quickly, I think this is the only time I've ever done it, but within 5 minutes of seeing 'Deano' Connelly, I turned to my brother and said, "this guy is ******* ****". I don't usually get it right, I'm a pretty poor judge of a player, but I got this one bang on. He was garbage, as every club he ever played for found out during the handful of games he managed as he tumbled down the league pyramid, in to Scotland and out to non-league. Even the mighty Stranraer only gave him 5 matches.

The reason I remember this so clearly was a few weeks later South Riding published an article claiming Deano was one to watch, he was going to be a good 'un. It still makes me chuckle. I'll have to try to find it among those that Revvie P put on line.

Coming from Arsenal, I foolishly believed they'd be quality players. Two years later, I believed the same of Robinson & Godfrey when we signed them from Liverpool.
Proof that I know nowt about football.

Worst - What about Vito Mannone.. Not only was he dreadful but he actually single-handedly cost us a few points!

Best - Lumsdon, Hammill, Chopra, O'Grady, Nardiello were all good loan signings. We've had some good defenders too in Mcshane, Trippier, Shotton, Nyatanga and Curtis.

Worst has gotta be Craig Rocastle, who now plays professional indoor soccer ball somewhere in the US.

The Viveash and Kane combo was pretty awful.

Phil Gray and Lee Glover were absolutely awful and didn't look like creating a chance never mind scoring one.
