There's no doubt we are spending more on wages than we were in League One.

The difficulty as I see it is that whilst we have a fair amount of money, it's never going to be as much as others can pay, unless we suddenly sell someone for £100 million!

    Again i agree with you.

Negativity is already here. You only have to read this bbs.

Whilst I like the strategy of trying young and hungry players. I hate the entire new squad every 6/12 months.

Steady progression is what I thought we were going to do. Say sell 1 maybe 2 each window. Not 4 or 5 and the rest.

Of course it will be slightly higher. I doubt very much major.

It will still be in the bottom 3 or 4 in the league though

    sorry, disagree massively.
This thing about selling club does my head in. Every club bar Real Madrid are selling clubs.
We are developing players and selling them for more. It's business how a lot of the million and billionaires have done it.

Which other Championship clubs have sold/lost as many first team players as we have in the last twelve months?

The club need to stamp it out and be open then. How easy was it. Mrs Roberts put something on Twitter, the club killed the flames in hours.

Also the club don't need to be talking to 5/6 people sat around a table with the likes of the supporters trust. It needs to be open to as many as possible.

Huddersfield last season? Reading made massive changes. Southampton does it on the regular and that seen them go from LEAGUE ONE to EUROPE and top HALF finish.

So did Reading lose/sell those players or choose to get rid? There is a massive difference.

Is my original point not why the replacement footballers, after selling our prized players for mega cash, now all have to be from lower league clubs?

Not getting at you btw (for once).

I have nowt against the signings we have made or the clubs they have cone from but not sure that Forest Green Rovers or Patrick is moving on from Torquay or Plymouth. It's difficult but we have to If we are to progress beyond being a nursery club for Championship clubs. Peterborough have shown us the limit of that plan. Last years recruitment looking at the better players in L1 was a step forward. I can't see anything in this years thus far that shows progress. Again no disrespect to the players signed I'm sure some of them will be great but it does seem to be ploughing the same path. Still it's early days tbf.

The club killed nowt to be fair. Marks mam told the truth the club initially tried to spin its way out of bad PR then pretty much admitted she was right.

you asked if clubs brought in a lot of players. Im saying they did. I have decent football knowledge but not a fan knowledge of every club. Looking at a overview of there transfer window last summer they sold a decent player to Villa and one to Brighton and and brought in players from EUROPE and the english leagues to fit a system of how JS wanted to play. Moore Blackett swift..... and Ilori and oxford.

How there are two things there that I would like to see BFC do. High quality loans and investment into the European markets for players to OUR system.

What, lower league clubs like Southampton and Crystal Palace?

I love how as I don't fully agree that this policy is destined for disaster that makes me a happy clapper.

Mistakes were made - monumental balls ups. But we are now signing players on longer contracts, bringing them in some cases from a higher level, and whilst we have lost a lot over the last year, this summer we have so far sold one first team player who was under contract. One.

It's not even the middle of July, it is well known we want two or three centre forwards, not one of the new signings has kicked a competitive ball in anger and we're destined for failure?

Reading this forum is like listening to Fraser from dads army at the moment.

Well Troff I made my post because I thought the present policy might be a bit too inflexible.

The 2 players you refer to have hardly played a game last season

To question the club's strategy is hardly doom and gloom, and is it not what debate is supposed to be about?

He's already been honest and said that increased transfer income will not be used to subsidise wage levels above the normal income levels of the club

I haven't read through all the comments here so this may have been mentioned.

However in regards to the original points being made the 'plan' did only become successful when Adam Hammill, Aidy White and Kevin Long were thrown into the mix.

3 players who were proven at a higher level.
