As part of the Mental Health Project at Shaw Lane we are building a sensory garden for children/ people with disabilities. Does anyone know where I can get some leftover paint in bold bright colours, that would be suitable for painting tyres, which will be used as planters. Presumably I'll need some kind of acrylic paint / outdoor paint? This is the kind of thing we're doing.
Approach local paint shops/suppliers directly - they may well be willing to give you some paints for the project. Assure them you'll put a notice acknowledge their contribution in the sensory garden, Similarly you may get free plants from a garden centre.
This is my next plan of attack, but I would prefer to use leftovers (paint wise) if possible, from a recycling perspective.
https://communityrepaint.org.uk/need-paint/ B&Q do a thing which is waste/recycled paint if I read it correctly.
https://seagullsreuse.org.uk/ Seagulls in Leeds is a fantastic initiative and leftover paint is their bread and butter. They do loads of good work and employ people who need a chance to get on track.
I'd recommend seagulls too! It's a fantastic initiative, and they appear to have branched out into tiles since I last went.
