Can't blame him... He did as much as he could and should walk into another job in no time.

Good manager, very decent human being - loved to listen to him when Chezzie manager (through his hoarseness due to shouting throughout the match). Good luck whatever you do, Paul Cook

Bristol City was the one I saw as well. He is a good manager. I think he would do well there

It's a mess, I feel sorry for their fans. Wish him luck he seems like a good bloke and shouldn't be out of work for too long.

I don't really feel sorry for the fans at all. They have sat back and watched their club overspend for years, they haven't asked the owners to stop and have now reaped what they sowed.

Paul cook I have a little sympathy for but then he too has also taken a job at a club he knew were overspending. Not only did he know it but he encouraged it as manager.

Gotta be honest and don’t understand that logic?
Fans support a club, generally they don’t get to choose and as rule an individual fan can’t influence an owner over there running of a club.
A Manager however might be able to influence, but they can certainly choose a job.

The Wigan fans don’t help themselves with some of their views but as others said all they are doing are desperately trying to cling to something positive during a negative period (but like some of the fans on here during Xmas period).
Equally as a Manager Cook has done everything he could in terms of his job.

Ultimately there for the grace of god.......

For some (many clubs) the fans could easily claim they didn't realise the club was overspending. With Wigan it's been obvious to everyone that they've been trying to buy success for years. It's come back to bite them. The fans weren't blind to it but bought into the philosophy of overspending.

Paul cook bought into the philosophy too.

The only fans who truly didn't deserve to lose their club were Blackpool. They sacrificed going to matches and their time to get other fans on side.
We haven't a clue about our owners finances so I'm not going to finger point at other fans apart from the piggies cos they know all about the sale of the stadium yet still go to swillsboro!

Yes it was obvious, but what is the fan supposed to do?
Withdraw there support and make things worse?
I wasn’t on here then but how many people were condemning PC when he was subsidising the club? I suspect very few.

The ironic thing with Cryne was he stopped spending at the wrong time. Had he backed Robins for one more season I think we'd have pushed for the play-offs without bankrupting him.

PC never bankrolled the club to the same extent that Dave Whelan did. Wigan have been loosing millions per year for years.
To my memory Wigan was always a small club with small attendances and unfortunately for them they’ve never really kicked on.
Im half expecting Bournemouth to go the same way as they are another small club artificially bumped up the leagues due to spending big on players they can’t afford.
