Doesn't fit the profile (31 in July) but I think he would be a decent signing on a one year with option to extend contract. I think he could be an asset while we find our feet and the Blunts fans I know rate him.

I agree. He's bags of experience he can pass on to others. Our midfielders especially would come on from playing alongside side him and he'd bring a lot to the team. We don't like players in their 30s but I wouldn't have him in the category of looking for one last payday with his best days behind him.

Agreed. Mentioned in the Vegas thread where someone said he was a bellend that he’ll be a good signing for someone in the division. Won’t be us though.

If we are serious about competing next season and not just being a conveyor belt, then we need to amend - not abandon - the strategy.

We can't look for resale value in every signing. We have to look at some players with regards to what they can do for us in the immediate term. I'd like to see us sign someone like Richard Keogh if Derby go up.

For a start - Keogh is far too ugly to play for Barnsley.

Wonder if they have an algorithm for that in the spreadsheet?

Agree regarding Coutts. Always looked a good player, not sure how he’s recovered from his injury though, which I think was a pretty serious one.

Never really been a fan of Keogh, though.
