Penalty?

Daft challenge, didn’t get the ball. Goes down easily but there is contact, it’s a penalty.

Would it have been given at the other end - not a chance.
Their guy hangs out a leg and goes down easily.

No.. from the main camera it does look like he got the ball but from a different angle he never touched the ball and got the player

 

I have been waiting to see if anyone agreed with me because honestly i can't see where thete was actual contact

 

For me he definitely didn't get the ball how much contact I couldn't tell . The lad needs to told to stay on his feet especially in our penalty area never seen s pro footballer slide as much as Mcatee he's obsessed.

 

Was a pen but ref couldn't wait to give them it and wasn't interested in our appeals for penalties.

 

It was a dive and epitomises everything wrong in today's game. A complete lack of respect for the spirit of the game, your opponents and yourself.

 

There's been a lot of criticism of McAttee on here and while I accept that it was a rash challenge, I also think he's an honest player (never seen him diving or any other form of cheating) and should be commended for that. It's not his fault that the game's authorities, TV pundits and all the media think it's perfectly ok for a player to collapse in a heap at the mere waft of shirt....

 

That's what I thought, missed the ball and the man!

 

100% penalty brain dead challenge coming from the wrong side and didn’t touch the ball ultimately loosing us the game

 

Penalty for me, gets none of ball. Soft as ***** pen but...

Regardless, there was absolutely ZERO reason to go to ground there. Keep showing him out wide where he posed no danger. I have no idea what possessed him to do it, even though I know he loves a sliding tackle.

 

Penalty all day long for me. Didn't reach the ball but stretched through the man. He's not a defender so these things happen

 

Their striker did the trick of waiting for the slide then moved his left foot towards the defender, then threw himself down.

There’s an angle that shows it clearly. It’s a dive, but as I said last night, daft centre forwards attempt to tackle when there was no need.

 

If you slide in inside the box and don’t get the ball you deserve all you get as a defender. Piss poor defending and it’s cost us.

 

No penalty. Go through it frame by frame, the pompey player actually lunges and lands on mcatees leg or foot to make contact. Never a pen for that reason.
