The government decimate an industry, bring it to its knees, and then refuse to feed starving children in the darkest of times. Who then steps up for these children in their hour of need? That same industry that has hardly got a penny to rub together. Those 322 MPs should be charged with treason/gross misconduct and removed. Today. The hospitality industry should be supported, cheered, and cherished. It’s so much more than just somewhere you get fed or have a pint. Beyond proud to be part of it. Beyond just having hate for this government.
Just to add further disgraceful context, many of those 322 MPs will eat at one of the subsidised restaurants on the Westminster estate and drink in the subsidised bars. It's a good while since my only visit to Portcullis House, but the price of a beer (probably around a decade ago) was just over a pound. I was also told that some MPs bar tabs were tens of thousands of pounds and it was common practice that little to no attempt was made to pay it off or even to be chased. And let's not get on to the grubby cash grab where MP's claimed a full flat allowance of £10,000 to "set up" to work from home!
a pint is just over 2 quid now. The pigs like the trough though. I guess they are victims of ‘dependency culture’
They probably think it should be provided for free as a work expense, hence some who don't even try and pay.
They basically get it ex duty I think. Which shows you how much of your pint glass is tax and how little is left for ingredients and profit
And the people that voted for them , Should be ashamed of themselves but I’m guessing they won’t ,selfish ********.
I would think that all members of parliament what ever party they belong to will take advantage of this perk , so there might be a tad hypocrisy coming from all MP"s
In all fairness all the non Tories voted to fund childrens school meals so the hypocrisy one doesn't quite stick. whether they should get a subsidised bar is a different matter of course
They were still the leading party in the last voting intention poll - I cant get my head around why Not even sure selfish is a logical reason for voting for them - many of those voting Tory are most definitely not better off for it
I have said this before , I do not get involved in political debate & I will leave it with my thoughts are that all members of parliament will use the cheap facilities on offer & to suggest that only one section do is frankly unbelievable .
Really good from the bridge end chippy and all other establishments across the country doing the same, all of whom will be worried enough about their own wellbeing. Miriam Cates, Penistone and Stocksbridge, voted against the free school meals motion. She's done absolutely nothing for the community since December and has simply bowed down to the whip in every meaningful vote. Hopefully the people there see sense and make sure she never represents them again come the next election.
Julian Lewis voted against funding school meals. I know technically he was a tory, but he is independent now.
Ok I stand corrected - All but one none tory voted against funding free meals for starving children - I didnt spot that. it doesnt change the general point though
