That's still the case tbh its only because of pollution that the younguns nardays can't grow em so have deemed em unfashionable to save face. You mean his name is not actually Illeyout?
Big Eric definitely had a tash. As did Ian Banks in his first spell. It all went wrong after he shaved it off!
Broddles was perhaps the funniest tache a cunning mixture of 70s porn star and Marty Feldman. Facial genius.
Not many of our current team are old enough for a tache but I reckon Hourihane would look cool with a Dick Dastardly style tache
Do you know mate I never knew his first name daft as it sounds - was always Mr Cross to me. His wife ended up getting alzhimers and forgot who her husband was - she passed away then he passed away not much longer after that. Lovely people !
Does this mean that you have taken your boxes of programmes out of the loft? Did you have that Notts County one that's worth a small fortune?
I picked one up a few months ago. Probably the most I'll ever pay for a piece of paper that doesn't have a picture on it!
Yeah that sounds like Jack. He was Jack Murphin but i dont know the family history too well. My dad will as he always called him our Jack. Not sure is we were related or not. Nice bloke though. I lived on Rockingham Street when i used to see him a fair bit and he lived on smithies lane just off the end of Rockingham St.i think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's from the 1965-66 season and is one page, like an old reserve programme. I've heard two different theories. Dave Wood told me that it was a time when the club nearly folded and they couldn't afford to pay for the full programme to be printed, but someone on here mentioned that it was because of a paper shortage due to industrial action or something. Both sound faesible. Either way, it's certainly the rarest home programme of the past 50 years or so and has been sold for excess of £100 in the not too distant past. I hasten to add, should the missus be reading, that mine didn't cost that much!
The reason was because Oakwell was under about 4 inches snow during the week and they thought the match was certain to be postponed however a sudden thaw arrived on Friday and there was only time to print a single sheet programme. Here is the weather report for Feb 1966 if interested http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/media/pdf/s/o/Feb1966.pdf
