I'll be pleasantly surprised if he's still here in February. The club would have to break the habits of a few lifetimes.

Not so sure - he's not obvious Roberts / Mawson material to me.

In that someone is going to fork out super dosh for him.

Jackson did just about as much as Pinnock today - both our centre halves did well. It's not an area of weakness for us.

He always seems to get a lot of clamour does Pinnock but I’ve never really seen him massively outshine whoever is playing next to him.

I think the 3 that we have are all good league 1 defenders and I hope they are all still here come Feb.

Mawson was diffrent quality but Roberts was a diffrent type of defender to pinnock pinnock can defend and also take the ball out of defence and play balls cross field that actually reach a red shirt. Can't agree with you that Jackson was just as good not for me he wasn't and based on what I've seen so far this season I'd expect clubs to be looking at pinnock.

    Pinnock is our best player.

I'll be shocked if we don't cash in on him.

I think he’s on a par with Roberts

Pinnock was MOM by a country mile today. Never put a foot wrong all game. Every tackle worked and looks so comfy on the ball. Jackson had a good game too cos that big no.9 of theirs was a big dirty lump but he never had a kick. Will be shocked if no one in championship comes in for pinnock tho.

Pinnock was the best player on the pitch by a country mile. IMHO. Actually he had been most games I've seen this season

I pressed “like” to agree with your comment not that he’ll be earmarked for other clubs lol.
But yes he’s our biggest asset great reader of the game didn’t give the ball away cheaply .
I fear we will lose him eventually as imo he’s prem bound at some point

He had a very good game but certainly wasn’t faultless, for instance in the first half he ended up on the left side & got skinned with the Pompey winger crossing to the far post. Thought he was our second best player behind Woodrow

He’s a very good what I’d describe as doing the basics type of centre half in the sense that he’s superb against sides that play long ball & play standard league one / two football.

I think he’ll always have a ceiling of mid-table championship because I think he struggles with pace & movement, I don’t think his reading of the game is great but that’s fine against 95% of league one players as Pinnock can use his superior pace & strength to get there first. Against players who could match him for pace against City U23’s & Sunderland & on a couple of occasions last season I thought he struggled.

He’s one of them that I reckon will be very good for us but if he ends up leaving us for a decent fee he’ll end up sat on a bench for the following few years
