That's my overriding memory of the day too. Vast swathes of Wednesday fans already outside the ground at full time.

The one, massive advantage to losing a playoff final - quick wave at the players, out of the ground & onto a tube train north, back at the car and on the A1 in no time at all for the most miserable drive home you can imagine....

Coach journey home last year was a nightmare. Like you say, almost 2 hours to just get to the M1 and then crawling at about 40mph for much of the journey home. Obviously made a lot worse by the million or so Fowls all travelling in the same direction.

I’d go but I really wouldn’t relish it. Last season’s visit has left me mentally scarred about the place…

Exactly our experience and why we won't be going this time.

Only way I would go is to park north London and catch train/tube in, but my old fella can't walk far now, only way he could attend is to go on coach, and no way am I doing that

I thought idea of supporting your team was in the hope of some success on pitch, yet loads on here are saying they won’t go to a promotion play off final!....I was as disappointed as anyone last year, but the only reason that I wouldn’t be going to the next one is if, a) I either couldn’t afford it, or b) couldn’t make it for some over reason. It would definitely not be by choice that I would miss it. The bus trip back was shyyte I agree, but would have been different if we had won. No way would I want to miss the chance of a play off win. We may as well finish mid table if not bothered about giving them support in a final

Because it's only division 3, somewhere we have been many times recently, expensive, really long day and Wembley (the place not the ground) is a dump.

I’ve said for a while I wouldn’t go after last year. But obviously I will if we do get there!

Only Division 3?.....‘‘tis division 3 but my roots come from division 4 so I a guess it’s progression for me. You don’t go Wembley then if we get there, you won’t be missed pal

That was my son too we stayed over the night after the game and my son went up to pretty much any Wednesday fan he saw all night saying “do you think you deserved to win today” the majority of them said no too.

To build the old Wembley there made perfect sense I'm sure but rebuild on that site was pure madness. One way out all the buses on top of each other the row can't move until everybody ready. That land must have been worth a fortune sell it and build a fantastic stadium somewhere you can access maybe at Dodworth save us trailing to that there London so often.

So if we get 5th, we’re at home on a Saturday night? That combination of day of week and the time always feels weird to me.

Yeah last season whilst in my head never happened has left a mark, it’s a long expensive day, akin to going on holiday okay while you are there but a complete hassle getting to and from.
Not taking for granted we’d make it but it’s weighing up us taking low numbers and have Derby/Bolton maybe Peterborough because of closeness going on about crowds as opposed to either snap and Ale my choosing or even watching in town.

When I was a bairn a trip to Wembley was beyond our wildest dreams. To finally get there in 2000 was a dream come true and it was a very emotional day for those I'd become friends with on our days in division 4.Since then I've been to all our Wembley games including the Spurs cup .I must admit last years final left a scar but if we were to get there this season I'd be there in a heartbeat.

It was, and I took my dad who turned 80 on 25th May that year. He'd supported the Reds since 1932 and he too never thought we'd play at Wembley - or get in the top division.
