I think they expected the brightest young coach Royston has ever produced to live up to his own ego/hype.
Very poor showing from Leeds. Their fans were leaving before the end. Hecky will be lucky to survive unless he starts winning games. Borough looked very impressive. Seem to have three or four genuine threats. They could well be up there come the end of the season. If Heckingbottom is still with them, Leeds will be lucky to finish above halfway. I would love it, if we could go there and turn them over.
Hecky will be fine. He will no doubt get a string of jobs over the next 15 years to subsidise his million pound pay off from leeds from lower league clubs hoping he can replicate his good 12 months with us
If that happens, I sincerely hope our owners are not daft enough to ever to bring him back to Oakwell. Personally, I think that after all he said about being privileged to be the manager of his hometown club to then defect to Leeds United of all clubs, there is no way back for him. From some of the comments made on the board when he first defected, I feel confident that such a move would be a retrograde step for our Club and would alienate a lot of our loyal supporters.
2 wins in 21 matches, and yet you aren't wrong, clubs will still think he's a good young coach and give him another job. Massive hype job.
Been out for works drinks and just hopped on the Transpenine Express back to Huddersfield. Can't believe the amount of Leeds fans getting off slating Hecky!
Towards the end of his tenure with us some of his tactical decisions baffled me and made me realise that he wasnt a good manager at all. I can remember we had 3 clean sheets in 4 in the league and against aston villa decides to go 3 at tge back with wing backs and we were 3-0 down in the first 20 mins. The team which got promoted and were pushing for playoffs made hecky look good.
If comments on twitter are indicative of the level of support he’s going to get then he’s absolutely fecked and might struggle to remain in a job by next xmas if they continue like this and then get off to an average (not top 8) start next season, which let’s be honest is quite likely given the quality of their squad. I would be surprised if they manage to hang on to Janson and Saiz, and without them they are left with a lower championship / league one squad.
